Update on City Lines Featuring Chris Brookmyre

The Faculty of Creative Industries joined forces with the Scottish Book Trust and award-winning author Chris Brookmyre to celebrate Book Week Scotland, the festival of reading which takes place across the country. Students from HNC Professional Writing Skills, the only full-time creative writing course in Scotland’s college sector, performed their poetry and monologues, and journalism student Megan Davidson wowed the audience with her original music, before Brookmyre, writer of bestselling novels such as Quite Ugly One Morning and Bedlam regaled the audience with hilarious anecdotes from his writing career before performing a short story written specially for the event. Speaking after the event, which took place in the City Campus Students’ Association, Brookmyre described the event as, “a real pleasure, and a bonus to be introduced to Megan Davidson’s music.”
