Bright Lights Beckon for Drama Student

Acting student achieves her dream of being taught by Hollywood names such as Al Pacino, Steven Spielberg, Kevin Spacey and Ben Stiller after securing a scholarship to hone her craft at the renowned New York Film Academy.

Rhanna Crawford, who is studying HND Acting and Performance at City of Glasgow College, will move to Los Angeles to study at the New York Film Academy’s California campus in September after successfully auditioning for the Acting for Film course.

Rhanna took the female lead in the College’s Christmas production of Sinbad at The Tall Ship. She said: “Being in the show was a great experience as I loved seeing how the audience reacted to my character. I loved having my family in the audience supporting me.”

Anne Macleod, Acting and Performance lecturer at City of Glasgow College, praised Rhanna for securing a coveted spot at the Academy: “Rhanna is a hardworking and talented student. It is a delight to see her being recognised and rewarded in this way by the New York Film Academy and I wish her well in California.”
