40 students and 3 lecturers (Fiona Ferguson, Peter Kiernan and Susan Bryson) visited the Jupiter Artland Estate for a study trip on Wed 16th September. The groups were given a full and detailed tour of existing and newly acquired site-specific artworks, including a temporary exhibition by American artist Tara Donovan in the new Ballroom of the estate’s private house. The new room includes a mind-bogglingly intricate plaster ceiling, installed by master craftsmen, which took 9 months to complete. Other new works included a permanent sculpture by Sara Barker, and temporary work by Laura Gault and Samara Scott. The students had an amazing day, made all the better by amazing weather, and there was also time for sketching and research before heading home.
